I am a tech support monkey.
I do software.
And I do hardware, but at the PC card level.
This is all cool stuff to me to mix the stuff.

Today I built 3 Jeenodes and they all worked. Soldering can be a challenge some times.

I got the jeenodes working and loaded with the demo.
I got the Jeelink working with the demo.

I even got the mapping of the DIO pins to the jeenode figured out for the jeenode to the regular arduino.

So all is going well. I can turn othe led on and off using the rf12demo on the jeelink.
But I wanted to be able to turn on and off a LED in one of the remote jeenodes. DENIED!

So how do you send a command to the remote node with an LED for example. To turn the DIO ON or OFF?

I wanted to tease my kids with blinking LEDs and didn't do well there.

When connected or remote, I could turn on the digital io pin, but could not seem to get the digital IO poin to go off.

Help here?

There's no ready-made code for remote control - you'll need to dive into the RF12 library, and the "easy transmit" calls. The RF12 driver is fairly low level, so it's about defining a packet and sending / receiving that on both ends. For reliable comms, its more involved (again, see http://news.jeelabs.org/docs/easy%20transmission.html).

Having said tht: there are blinkrecv and blickxmit demo's in the Ports library. See http://news.jeelabs.org/2009/02/15/remote-ports/ - this code works, but it's not really working as I'd like it to, so I'm not developing that further. Needs more work.

The RF12demo "f" and "k" commands are for RF-controlled power-line switches which are common in Europe. You could search for "KAKU" and "FS20" on the weblog to get more info.
