Using Arduino Hardware I2C With JeePlug

I have just ordered the RTC JeePlug.

I'm Making a Digitally Controlled Analog Mixing Desk with Fader Recall using the X6 Cirrus Logic CS3308.

All channels are controlled via Faders on ADC pins. Im using X3 16CH Multiplexers for 48CH, This takes up 4 Digital pins and 3 Analog pins and doesn't leave many pins so I2C is my best option for getting the buttons and led indicators going.

The RTC Plug will Be used to display time & date on the Control Screen and will also form part of the Fader Recall filename.

My questions are:
How do i get the Ports library to work with a Duemilanove?
And Read the time from the Plug?
What correct wiring for the JeePlug to Arduino?

If my Mux Shield code works with the Jeenode i might buy one.

The Ports library will now also work with the A4/A5 pins for I2C - just specify it as Port 0:

There's an "rtcdemo" example in the Ports library. For wiring directly to an Arduino, without using the Plug Shield, use this list:

DIO = SDA
AIO = SCL
+3V = 5V (the RTC plug can be used at 5V - not all plugs can!)
GND = GND

Don't connect the outermost 2 pins of the plug.

Ok, my RTC Plug arrived today,

Just hooked it up with my Mixing Desk Byvac LCD Display.

I am now getting the Time & Date on the Screen.
I had to use the "Softrtc" example because the "Plurtc" was giving me a weird date read out.

Thanks J C, you have saved me a lot of time & effort!

I will be formatting the time & date to incorporate it into the Session Save functions.

If you're using softrtc, then you're not reading out the plug but running off the internal clock.
