I don't have any soldering experience.
Is it possible to buy it already assembled? This could be my true solution in my setup for using my iPad as a home automation controller.

Today, I would say that JeeNodes etc are a bit too experimental, or at least too much oriented towards tinkering, to be able to use them as turnkey solution. There's an "Assembly Service" in the shop, IOW you can have things pre-soldered for you, but there's still a lot of tinkering involved. I added this service mostly to help get people started, not as a way to provide everything ready-made.
I'm very interested in iPad options, but I don't have one yet to try things out on. Lots of big decisions need to be made: do you want to run everything on some webserver, and access it on the iPad through Safari? Or do you want to build an iPad app with Cocoa / Objective C, etc? Whar sort of things need to be monitored, controlled, and hooked up? Do you want to tie into existing home-control options? Is everything wireless? Do you want to use Bluetooth? WiFi? ZIgBee? RF12?
My current - vague - direction, is to work towards a web server, running on either a desktop machine or a little embedded Linux board, and have something like the iPad be the front end. With JavaScript to create more advanced and interactive interfaces. Processing.js might be something look into.
Having said all that, please don't stop because soldering is new for you. Nobody gets born with soldering experience :) - it's just another skill you can work on and pick up, if you want to.
