I am working on a Jeenode infrared sender and receiver, so far it's been coming along pretty great.

Any comments on improving the code, or nice additions are welcome. Now that I got both sending and receiving working, the next part is getting this all wrapped in a nice box (using the carrier board)

Haha I don't work for a company :-) Atleast not on this.. would be nice though.. I do work off course but it's unrelated to this. I'm just a crazy system administrator who does stuff like this in his spare time... But I consider it a nice compliment :-)
Ah, because there was a funny sentence about your views/company, so I was thinking you was working for some home automation business. :-)
How many devices works in 36,38,40 kHz band? Because I have some robotic toys in my lab and I'm getting IR receivers for different bands. The other approach will be to have a normal IR receiver without the optical cap filter and do digital filtering. It will be less real time but you can virtually receive any band. :-)
i have a couple A/C units that i can only control via infra-red remote control. could i use something like this to capture the signals from the remote control and then control my A/C units via RF and some smart logic added ?
@epokh: A lot of devices work in that band. Commercial devices like IRtrans (www.irtrans.com) use the same kind of IR diode's and IR receivers.
@s.mihai: You can use the capture sketch provided with Arduino IR library to capture the specific buttons. Or you can analyze the IR protocol used by the remotes (this is a little bit harder..)
@mdamen: as a computer IR transceiver I was more oriented to the USB-UIRT with the IR configuration and is also open source and supports LIRC. The IR Trans is slightly overpriced but this is just my first sight opinion.

Very nice, let use now when you put also the sender. :-) I'm still waiting for my IR to arrive from Farnell, I got all the bands covered so I will not miss any device. :-)
