To make life a little easier when trying to show the world the pictures of your projects, I was just wondering if anyone was interested in a Flickr group dedicated to things built with JeeLabs modules?

I'm rather surprised there isn't one already to be honest, I notice there are quite a few for arduino. Surely there are enough of JeeFans (tm) :-) to justify it.

I'm pretty active on Flickr, so I don't mind setting it up and moderating the content, it'll certainly be a lot easier than some of the other groups I moderate!

The next question would be what to call it? JC, would you mind if it was called JeeLabs (and the group description explains that it's not an official group). Would calling it JeeFans be better (assuming JC isn't planning on branching out into air-conditioning equipment!).

I'd certainly be interested, though I tend not to post 'equipment' shots on flickr. My only concern would be splitting the discussion from there to here.

Hi Edward, that had crossed my mind too. I think it is possible to create a group on flickr that is pictures only and no discussion area, I'll check.

The café-that-still-wants-to-become-a-real-wiki-one-day isn't ready for public participation - so a Flickr group open to anyone sounds like a fine alternative. JeeLabs + description/link is fine with me.

FWIW, there's a (comatose) "jeelabs" user on Flickr, which I used before posting images directly to the daily weblog. I hope that won't interfere. Never got around to cleaning it up and transferring the remaining pictures to the weblog (which is easier for me to manage as one). Probably never will either, because Flickr in its infinite wisdom no longer lets me log in, and I don't have a Yahoo account anymore.

    Job done.

All welcome, I'll put the kettle on :-)

JC, If you ever get yourself back onto flickr you can have honourary uber powers :-) It's publicly visible so if you want any of the wording/links changed on the group description just let me know.

Oh, and can I "pinch" your JL logo for the group?

Thanks JC... As I needed 48 x 48, I ended up recreating it. It's probably not quite the same font, but it's pretty close even if I do say so myself :-)

I'm sure I've seen the logo somewhere on your pages in a large form, but of course the moment I want it I couldn't find it.

Yes, and picture quality is quite high, too. Nice. Will contribute once I finally get to actually DO something instead of just browsing JL news, discussion group, IRC and now the Flickr group. :-)

Group now up and running with proper JC provided logo, that's an official seal that is :-)

It's even got some members and pictures!

Come and see the scary filing job I did on a 16x2 LCD board and controller to fit it into a box :-)
