It occurred to me that IF the jeelink was usable as an USB stick that I could more easily take my demo software with me and deploy the PC based part of it on every PC I happened to walk into.
I have no clue what it takes to put a file system on the next version of the jeelink, but maybe it's worth considering...
LOL... Sounds like a neat idea, but very tricky to achieve... Implementing the USB mass storage protocol is one step... The next problem is the ATmega just doesn't have much Eeprom storage anyway!
It's probably easier/cheaper to just glue a 1gig USB stick on the top of the Jeelink facing the other way :-)
hmm, functionally, that is exactly what I want. I did not expect the AT mega to provide the storage, perhaps only the access mechanism. you would need a memory chip (or tiny microSD card) for the storage.
But I do have a large roll of duct tape here, and it is looking at me ;-)
Well it's a tried and tested technique, the armed forces use it to attach multiple magazines together for quick change!
