I'm trying to quickly assemble a mobile logging accelerometer system with three 3-axis accelerometers that must read at least +/-6g (8-10 preferred). I'd like to sample/read all axes at 3kHz, but 500Hz may suffice.
I'm presently considering a FEZ Domino (with onboard uSD) with a liquidware lithium battery pack with everything else from JeeLabs: a Plug Shield and 3 Gravity Plugs.
One accelerometer will be mounted to the Plug Shield, but the other two need to be 1 and 2 meters away.
I have a few questions:
Will I2C cover 1 meter? 2 meters? If so, what cabling and data rate limitations will I have?
Can I daisy-chain them? Does this add new limitations?
The BMA020 accelerometer claims to be an SPI-only device. How is it being used as I2C?
