I'm having a hard time finding an LDR from Mouser or Digi-Key. Sparkfun sells one but their prices tend to be a bit more...

I'd go for a 100 k?'ish one. That way you can use the internal pull-up and get good readings across the range. The higher the resistance the better perhaps, I think all of 'em will go way down in bright daylight. And in sleep mode you can turn off the pull-up to save power.
