I am at the Elektro:Camp meeting at Fraunhofer inn Kaiserslautern. At the meeting, I presented my experiences with energymonitoring with the JeeNode microcontroller. It turns out that most attendants (Germans) are familiar with the JeeNode.
But now the wireless firmware flashing. I met a student (Sebastian Wille) who made his own wireless inhouse sensor netwerk as graduation project. The nodes of his sensornetwork were based on an Atmel 324P microcontoller and a HopeRF RFM12B module communicating at 868Mhz (just like the JeeNode).
What I really liked about what Sebastian did with his nodes was creating robust wireless firmware flashing. He made a new boatloader which was able to reflash over the RFM12B module. It would be really cool to enable such a feature for the JeeNode. It would enable me the reprogram the JeeNodes in my home just from the couch, instead of walking around and reflashing each unit physically.
At this moment Sebastian has not documented his wireless flashing module. I am trying to convince him to do that, so it may become reusable.
