RANT ON
Is anybody using Solid State Relays (like this one ) with the jeenodes? The problem of using traditional relays (like this ) is that for high loads you need to put a line capacitor filter [like this one](http://my.execpc.com/~endlr/line-filter.html). My understanding is that a SSR will apply a smoother transition to the switching and thus requires a smaller line filter. But I'm not an expert in power electronics. :-) I just tried my jeenode with a ciseco and with/without a line capacitor, you can see the sparks for high loads without capacitor. Kettles are the most demanding job for relays, they can go up to 3000 Watts. My kettle is "only" 2100 Watts and I'm using a 10A250V = 2500W relay. Is it worth sacrificing a bit of current draw (2mA in that case) for a better smoother operation?
