I would like to get a Graphics Board + Jeenode in one nice enclosure and make something like a Dashboard for my stuff. Do you have any experience with what sort of box would fit this (and i don't mean one big box to fit them all, rather one that just fits all nicely inside) My biggest concern is for the display.

I'm investigating a few options for this myself. When/if I find something I will be sure to let everyone know.

A nice case for the board would be great. I would also add some push buttons, f.e. to navigate through the sensor nodes.
Capacitive buttons would also be great, but I had no time to test the according plug jet, would it be sensitive enough to put them behind the case ?
Cheers Rubi

I am also interesting in this...
Any news?

Me too ;)
Seriously. I;d like to find a case for GB + touch screen, and perhaps one extra port to spare for plugs. The circuit, software, and even pcb is no problem. The case is the hard part...
I'll keep looking - feel free to email me if you come across something worth looking into.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled. Boxes really are the missing link in most of my projects. Usually they get put in a generic plastic box from Farnell, which isn't a problem with projects that are hidden away, but a display is by definition "in your face", so needs to look good/cool/neat.
I guess I could try to fab something out of fibreglass, haven't done that for a bit, but what we really need is a way of boxing for everyone.

I find http://www.polycase.com/ which do also customized enclosures...
It would be great if we can made a few enclosures specific for JeeNode, 16x2 LCD, Graphics Board, room node, etc...!

If we can find the proper enclosures for each of these , then I can have a go at CNC-machining clean cutouts here at JeeLabs. It will takes lots of time and experimentation, but I have all the equipment for it, just not a good first box and target application to try things out on.
There is the current Carrier Board w/ Box. It could be used for LCD and GLCD, though I'd prefer a nicer (sleeker/design-ish) case for the GLCD, to be honest.

Could a 7 inch LCD digital photoframe ( el cheapo on ebay or so) be used as base for a case with WAF (wife approval factor) ?
Buy a el cheapo lcd frame. Lose the internal components and use the case and screen wired to a jeenode :-) Or am i thinking to easy now ?
For example this lcd photo frame does not look to bad for 40 dollar.

Are there any WiFi + touchscreen doable photoframes ? This would be my ultimate setup, sleek design and portability, even if not using only Jee's

The Carrier Board with box is very good but I think it to small if we are going to use a graphics board...
For graphics we need also in the box (easy accessible) a case for the batteries... it is not very user friendly to tell the user, open the entire case in order to change the batteries... the graph screen needs more power and so the batteries last shorter...
Also we need, in some times, to have some kind of keyboard or a joystick or some buttons....
We have to make to prototypes, one for inside house and one for outside... The later must be more protective sealed (for moister, etc)...

Hi JC ,check if you can have free samples with shipping in your country :
see 'catalog' page
Free sample page :
I often ask free sample for my job when i need some electonics prototype boxes. Free sample is for enclosure <15 , but most of small boxes are less than this amount.
